: General Charles de Gaulle, provisional head of the Republic restores the rights of the French sovereignty over the national territory.
At 8:15, while the battle of Normandy is engaged, General de Gaulle leaves Portsmouth, England, on the torpedo boat "La Combattante" to get the national territory, with General Koenig, admiral Thierry d'Argenlieu, the ambassador Viénot, Gaston Palewski and the Colonel de Boislambert
At 12:30, "La Combattante" drops the anchor at Juno Beach according to the Royal Navy planning.
